I know you're probably asking yourself, what is this Guru site all about and “What's in it for me?” I am glad you asked.
The overall goal of this site is to provide a “blueprint” for a litigation support career. Unless you've actually worked in litigation support, you can't imagine all of the many facets to “a day in the life” of a litigation support professional. I will break it down into small and simple-to-learn components.
The focus will be geared towards individuals that are learning litigation support from the beginning. These individuals may or may not have a technical background, they may or may not have any knowledge of the litigation process, and they may or may not have any experience working in the legal industry.
Having said that, even if you are already working in litigation support, one of the things that keeps this field exciting is that there is always something new to learn. We can't possibly know everything there is to know about every aspect of litigation support. In addition, technology in general is always changing so litigation support professionals are striving to keep up with the trends and technologies as best they can.
Keep in mind that this learning process will take time. This career can not be learned overnight or even in a semester time frame. The good news is, you'll be learning from someone who knows the field well, has successfully trained others and has actually worked in the field herself. Once you spend enough time and energy learning from the Guru, you will be in a position to apply for a job in litigation support. I will help you with your resume and your job search.
